CHRIS HANI



The 10th of April marks 20 years of the assassination of Chris Hani. Chris Hani was born as Martin Thembsile Hani on the 28th of June 1942. Hani was a leader of the South African Communist Party and chief of umkhonto we size, the armed wing of the African National Congress (ANC). He was a strong opponent of the apartheid government. He died on the 10th April 1993.
Hani participated in the struggle of freedom. He believed in the political ideology of liberalism and later he was exposed to Marxist ideas. He further developed the nature of a racist capitalist system, which South Africa was facing during the apartheid regime.
His racial perspective was the course of Karl Marx belief of the notion of Marxism. Marxism entails power, controlling and tyranny and this is linked to institutional oppression that happened in the past.
In the year 1961 Chris HANI decided to join underground SA Communist Party. He believed that national liberation would bring economic liberation. Meaning that the country should be involved in free trade, equal job opportunities must be offered, this was for the development of the country. Today South Africa has come so far and achieved a lot because of people like Mr Hani. South Africa is one of the developing countries in the world.
He is an Icon and died for the struggles of the apartheid regime.Thank you Chris Hani for your contributions. You will always be remembered on this day.
